Survey Purpose
To conduct an effective and beneficial risk analysis, inspectors understand the significance and end-use of a survey. The survey is a critical element used to determine the degree of insurability of a given risk. The function of the UIC field inspector is to conduct this survey and provide to underwriters a report which accurately describes the nature of the risk property and/or operations.
Field inspectors are knowledgeable of construction terms, building guidelines and most importantly are able to implement practical techniques in hazard recognition and methods of eliminating or reducing particular hazards/exposures.
UIC field inspectors are cautioned against pursuing completion of surveys if the insured or prospective insured is hesitant to allow such a survey. In such cases, a narrative report indicating that the insured declined the inspection is submitted.Mailing Address
